Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

By purchasing a ticket and/or attending the event, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by our Terms & Conditions.

Liability and Personal Responsibility

By participating in the Ecstatic Dance Festival at Val’s Place in Gialia, Cyprus, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for the physical and emotional risks associated with participating in festival activities.

The organisers are not responsible for injuries, loss, damage, or other consequences arising from your participation in the festival, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

The organisers are not responsible for weather conditions or other circumstances beyond their reasonable control and reserve the right to modify, postpone, relocate, or cancel activities or adjust the festival programme when necessary due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.

Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings and property throughout the festival. The organisers accept no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.

Code of Conduct and Consent

By attending the festival, you agree to treat other participants, artists, facilitators, staff, and the festival space with respect and care.

Consent is required for all forms of physical or intimate interaction. Participants must respect the boundaries of others and understand that consent must be freely given, can be withdrawn at any time, and should never be assumed. A “no” must always be respected.

Participation in any workshop, dance, contact, or other activity is voluntary, and participants are responsible for communicating and respecting their own boundaries as well as those of others.

Our Ecstatic Dance guidelines apply throughout all Ecstatic Dance sessions during the festival. These guidelines are in place to create a safe, respectful, and welcoming space where everyone can explore movement and connection freely. Participants are expected to familiarise themselves with and respect these guidelines throughout every Ecstatic Dance.

The organisers reserve the right to ask anyone who behaves in a disrespectful, threatening, inappropriate, or unsafe manner, or who repeatedly disregards the festival guidelines or the boundaries of others, to leave the festival. No refund will be provided in such circumstances.

100% Sober Event

The Ecstatic Dance Festival is a 100% sober event. The consumption, possession, or use of alcohol or recreational drugs is not permitted anywhere at the festival.

Anyone found to be under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs may be refused entry or asked to leave the festival without a refund.

Rapé / Hapé

Rapé (also known as hapé), a traditional Amazonian tobacco snuff, is considered a grey area within our 100% sober event policy.

While we do not consider personal use of rapé to be a violation of our sober policy, we ask participants to use it discreetly and only within the privacy of their own tent or personal space.

We ask that rapé is not administered or used in public or shared festival spaces, including dance floors, workshops, communal areas, or other areas where other participants may see or be involved in its use.

This is not a judgement of rapé or the traditions surrounding it. Our intention is to maintain a clear and consistent sober environment and to avoid confusion or discomfort among participants who may not be familiar with the substance or its traditional use.

Thank you for respecting this request and helping us maintain the atmosphere and integrity of the festival.

Programme Changes

The festival programme, including artists, facilitators, workshops, performances, activities, and schedules, is subject to change.

The organisers reserve the right to make changes to the programme, including changes to artists, facilitators, locations, times, or activities, when necessary due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including illness, travel disruption, weather conditions, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Such changes do not automatically entitle ticket holders to a refund.

Photography and Video

By participating in the festival, you acknowledge and agree that photography and video recording may take place during the event.

You grant the festival organisers and their authorised photographers and videographers permission to photograph and/or record you and to use such photographs and recordings for festival-related promotional, communication, marketing, social media, website, and other purposes, without requiring further approval or payment.

You release the festival organisers, photographers, and videographers from claims arising from the permitted use of such photographs or recordings, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Participants are welcome to take photographs and videos during the festival, provided that this does not disturb, distract, or interfere with other participants or the activities taking place.

During Ecstatic Dance sessions, we ask that participants do not take photographs or videos of dancers. The Ecstatic Dance space is intended to remain as private and distraction-free as possible, allowing everyone to feel free to move, express themselves, and dance without feeling watched or recorded.

If photographs or videos are taken from a distance during an Ecstatic Dance, for example to capture the overall atmosphere, venue, or group experience, they must be framed in such a way that individual dancers cannot be recognised. Participants should also avoid filming in a way that makes dancers aware that they are being recorded.

By respecting these guidelines, you help us maintain the privacy, freedom, and integrity of the Ecstatic Dance space for everyone.
